China Minsheng Bank was formally established in Beijing in January 1996. It is China's first national joint-stock commercial bank initiated and founded mainly by non-state-owned enterprises ("NSOEs"). The Bank was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2000 and 2009, respectively. It has grown into a bank group providing commercial banking, financial leasing, fund management, global investment banking and wealth management services with total assets exceeding RMB7.5 trillion, net assets exceeding RMB590 billion, more than 2,400 operating units and nearly 63,000 employees. In 2024, China Minsheng Bank stood at No.22 in the Top 1000 World Banks released by The Banker, No. 351 in the Fortune Global 500 published by Fortune, and No.11 in the Top 100 Chinese Banks released by the China Banking Association.

China Minsheng Bank established the London representative office in 2016, and the China Minsheng Banking Corporation Limited, London Branch was authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) on 2nd April 2024. The Branch, regulated by the PRA, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and the National Financial Regulatory Administration (NFRA), provides a range of financial products and banking services to its UK, Chinese, and international clients, including corporate customers and financial institutions.
The Branch has dedicated teams to focus on different areas, including syndicated loans, bilateral loans, money market transactions, bond investments, etc.
